NOTE THAT THE ITEMS OF THE EXTERNAL STACK WILL BE ADDED TO THE PROGRAM'S ACTIVE STACK. If you want to import the external Stack as an all new Stack in the Active Library, first create a new empty Stack in the program and switch to it using the "Stacks" tab prior to doing the "Add".
For example, if this option is 'set' and a ctl/v paste into the Item Panel is made, rich text will be pasted, if it is available on the windows clipboard. On the other hand, plain text could be pasted via the 'paste the contents of the clipboard as plain text' button selection.
Similarly, if this option is not set, pastes into the Item Panel will be plain text unless overridden by the 'Paste Rich Text' button.
Regardless of how the option is set, rich text will not be pasted if there is no rich text available on the window clipboard.
NOTE: A copy/paste from a NoteFrog Item to a NoteFrog Item will maintain the text format of the originating Item unless specifically overridden by a button action. This means, for example, that even if you have the 'Use rich text' option turned off, if you copy rich text from an Item and paste into an Item, the rich text formatting will be maintained unless specifically overridden by a button action.
While it's possible to edit Items containing images, be aware that an edited Item containing an image(s) uses orders of magnitude more space than normal Items and may present performance problems when into saving or retrieving from the library.
A cut/copy operation may result in multiple representations (formats) of the cut/copied data being placed on the Windows clipboard. In fact, one popular spreadsheet program will place over 20 different 'formats' on the windows clipboard for a single cut/copy operation.
As NoteFrog users, we're primarily concerned with rich and/or plain text. Rich text being a textual representation which includes formatting such as bold, underline, italic, as well as multiple fonts and colors. A rich text representation of data takes much more storage space in the library than plain text, in some cases orders of magnitude more
The 'Save Rich Text' clipboard option determines in what format(s) clipboard captures (not your edited notes) are stored in the NoteFrog library. It does not effect what is on the windows clipboard following a cut/copy. It does effect what is available when a clip is retrieved from the NoteFrog library. Naturally, if the clip was stored as plain text only, rich text is not available for retrieval.
Automated clipboard capture may (also) be enabled/disabled via the right-click tray option "Turn on/off automatic clipboard capture". Enabling/disabling via the option panel setting affects how NoteFrog is set at program startup. Enabling/disabling via the tray item selection or menu item selection is 'per session' and does not change the Option Panel setting.
Having NoteFrog default to clipboard capture mode is probably best used via a separate 'clips' stack such that your 'normal' stack does not get filled with what may be meaningless cuts and copies.
Automated clipboard capture may (also) be enabled/disabled via the rightclick tray option "Turn on/off automatic clipboard capture". Enabling/disabling via either of these methods is 'per session' and does not change the Main Option Panel setting.
